1. How to determine the correct output type (NPN vs. PNP)?

This depends on your PLC's wiring logic. NPN output (Sinking) connects the load to the negative terminal and is common in Asian markets. PNP output (Sourcing) connects the load to the positive terminal and is the standard for European and American PLC systems. All XSZ sensors feature clear wiring diagrams etched directly onto the housing.

Background Suppression (BGS) technology is based on the principle of triangulation, measuring the angle of the reflected light beam rather than its intensity. This ensures the sensor triggers reliably whether the target is jet black, pure white, or reflective metal, as long as it is within the set detection distance.
